The project modi di essere consists of two parts. The first refers to the analysis of two projects by Superstudio - Le Dodici Città Ideali and Salvataggi dei Centri Storici Italiani, in which Gian Piero Frassinelli designs critical utopias to show the absurdity and amorality of certain social processes. The aim is to provoke the viewer's critical reflection. The second part presents the design of own critical utopias in the context of Venice.
The division of the project into two cores also finds its place in the conception of this work. On the one hand, it should provoke and give the reader thought-provoking impulses about the world we live in - a part that initially led me to the idea of the project. On the other hand, it should be seen as an experimental platform, using a variety of media to reveal and express the message in the best possible way, as "orthodox" architectural visualisation tools reached their limits and thus set undesirable boundaries.
Ultimately, the project was realised in four catalogues:
- Catalogue 1 - Superstudio. Le Dodici Città Ideali. Salvataggi dei Centri Storici Italiani
- Catalogue 2 - Six Cautionary Tales of Venice
- Catalogue 3 - Gian Piero Frassinelli. Correspondence
- Catalogue 4 - Work Apparatus
